Opinion is opinion. Respect that, and I will respect you.
Hey all, AoD here. I've not done an opinionated blog or anything before, so this is something new. So I've heard stuff about people asking about the possibility of a Minecraft 2 to XBox, the first thing that comes to mind is why do people think that's even remotely a good idea. It honestly sounds like a complete waste of time, and the only reason for it would be to simply be a cash grab. Which I would never buy.
Minecraft can be added on to plenty in terms of adding new biomes, new gameplay mechanics or even improving AI, but unlike other games where updates only come in the form of new games entirely, Minecraft has a unique advantage of being updated regularly. This alone severely negates the need of a said, 'Minecraft 2.'
The game is intended to be simplistic, and doesn't need extravagant features to be worth playing. In fact I'm pretty sure most people like the vast creativity and simplicity, in multiple aspects such as gameplay, graphics, sound, and story. None of these things are flawed. None of these things really need improvement.
The one thing Minecraft has an issue with is there is never something that can truly set you back enough to be a threat to stability at a certain point. Sure you can take a nasty loss of diamonds in that sneaky lava pit or get blown up by a creeper, but there are players who can evolve and overcome most threats easily. Up to a point, nothing short of a griefer blowing up every square inch of your plot in a non rollback server could pose a threat at that point.
These are just all things I thought of and decided to speak up about. To be honest, sequels tend to be made when they are REALLY unnecessary, but I could never think of a better example of a game that absolutely does not and should never have, a sequel. Not because it's bad, it's because Minecraft has no need for a sequel game, when it is practically self improving.
My final thoughts in this blog is just the question, why would someone think something on these lines in the first place? It really seems to not have a need.
Ok, I'll stop talking about this and maybe do something else in terms of an opinion blog if people would like that. Til next time, see you guys later.
