For those of you not already aware of this game's existence, allow me to finally and fully explain in detail what SR:MT is.
SR:MT, or Shattered Realms: Mortal Tale, is the resurrection of a very old project dating back to when AoD first went live on YouTube. Back when AoD was launched in 2011, I was working on a project by the same name: Axis of Destruction. This is currently why I call myself AoDLegacy. What I do now is in honor of it, or in another perspective, is the legacy of Axis of Destruction as it was.
Now let me explain what kind of world we're dealing with, and then I'll get into the game's mechanics.
In the official AoD Multiverse Timeline, it occurs in the far future of the original Axis of Destruction, which now goes by Shattered Realms. The world is now slowly recovering from a great state of entropy, but at the same time, monsters begin to reemerge and become a great threat to civilization, dragons can once again be seen flying in the skies, and the time of Chaos... and heroes... has returned.
However, there are unseen forces at work, forces seek to completely destroy balance. While the prophesies foretell in times of Chaos that heroes will rise to stem the tide... they have not come. The heroes of legend have not been reborn, and dark days return to the world.
And this, is where you come in. You are a soul reborn, who has escaped Death himself. In your efforts, you had to battle the black figure himself. And even though you escaped his clutches for the moment... a curse now dwells upon you, forcing you to continually reap souls, either of the innocent or monsters. Either way, a long path of bloodshed is before you.
This is really only the second time I ever really fully intended to implement unique features into a game like this. While the systems are not fully in place, I can at least tell you about the intended function.
And since you're all curious, here's some concepts.
Unfortunately I don't have all that much physically built stuff, so I'm going to have to leave it there for now. I will say that there will be far more playtests than AwaKen has for SR:MT. So as soon as a decent playable build is out, you will know.
Also, as the game does not have the custom resources at this time to span the entire planned map, nor can I add in the additional races meant to be in the game, SR:MT will be developed in two versions, the Alpha SR:MT World, and the Full Shattered Realms: Mortal Tale game. Anyone interested in assisting development of the game, feel free to approach me on the subject, I could always use a hand.
