Today I will be discussing the political aspects of Oxorin's main landmass, Majoria. Enjoy!
Considered the central continent of Oxorin, it is also the most diverse in terms of races. The realm is split into multiple political groups, which I will cover today.
Oy'zara is the northern most kingdom of the Northern Kingdoms, and predates human, elven, and dwarven civilizations. It is a race of lizardfolk who venomously hate humans after their original empire was brought low, humanity playing a part in their downfall. Festering in their mighty jungle fortresses, they are one of the more reclusive races, however they are currently in a territory clash with Chopper's Bay, as Oy'zara has claimed it and all of the Ancient Coast.
Omaiar, Highboor, Delire, Swezi, Gali, and Chopper's Bay are all part of a system of kingdoms known as the Great Nations. Diverse and numerous in cultures and beliefs, these nations at the time of SR:MT have been subverted by Death. Prior to Death's occupation, they were a significant threat to the Southern Commonwealth, vying for control of the realm. Each nation has made bids to overthrow the others and become the next great kingdom, or even an empire, to little success.
A union of multiple races and nations, it is an alliance of many city states and nations under a primeval union akin to a republic. Each of the participating nations and political groups represents each other in the Common Court, however the individual nations are ruled by aristocrats or monarchs. The elven nations of Cypris and Elivite, and the human nation of Ardin are the Commonwealth's primary defense against invasion from the Northern Kingdoms, their territory includes Elkwood, a massive dark forest that discourages invasion through the uninhabited woods due to an ancient curse. Places under the protection of the Commonwealth include Hanaru, The Ancient Hills, Eastrun City, and the Sacred Valley, with many towns and city states lying within their borders.
Gran'Domorond was formerly a member of the Commonwealth prior to its destruction.
The Savage South
Occupied largely by powerful monsters or scattered tribes of various humanoids, this land is also known as the Shattered South. The single greatest power in this land is Hiljan, the great Orcish Empire. To the north of Hiljan is a vast snowy mountain range home to a number of Inuit like cultures who live off the frozen lands. A land isolated from the rest of Majoria, these people care little for the politics of the North, nor do they bother to inform themselves of them to begin with. A land where only the strong survive.
Final notes for this post, is that the four oceans surrounding Majoria are named after the landmasses that can be found in the respective direction. The Servule Ocean is the deepest and widest, it is the equivalent of the Pacific Ocean of Oxorin, but is many times greater and deeper than even it is. Hope you enjoyed this look into the world of Oxorin!
